Danny's Blog
I want to blog more.
I feel like I need a subject to focus on to really make sure I stay on track. You know how bad I am at concentrating on one thing. Having this blog (the one you are reading now) with no clear direction or theme makes me want to write about everything... or nothing (how profound :). I have at least 30 'drafts' that never made it live for one reason or another...who knows, maybe this post will be trapped in there as well.
Please reader (I'm pretty sure there is only one of you out there), help me come up with a clear and focused theme for Danny posts. To help you get started, here are some things I'm interested in:
Entrepreneurship
Startups
Mobile
Renewable Energy
Traveling
Art
Architecture
Furniture
Gadgets
hmm...probably other stuff too...
Thanks!
Been a long time
Wow! I haven't blogged in forever. It's 5:00am the night before a big presentation....Austin and I are still at the office. I want a nap...but decided to write this post instead.
Tonight

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DENVER, Colo. June 12th 2007 --
The Actionscript Society is pleased to announce its inaugural gathering, taking place today, June 12th, at 6 PM. The Actionscript Society is a VIP Flash and Flex developers' group, meeting every second Tuesday. The best and brightest Actionscript developers from the Denver/Boulder area will be getting together to discuss development techniques, best practices, gossip about the latest news, and show off their work.
Developer groups in this community come and go, but the Actionscript Society has two special characteristics that will make it extraordinarily popular and relevant. The first is how it fits into a new developer Supergroup called Web2.0sday. At the same time, in the same building, developer groups from other disciplines will also be meeting. Today, The Actionscript Society will meet alongside a Ruby/Rails group, Ruby Tuesday. In the coming months, a mobile technology group and an AJAX group will also meet. The ultimate goal is to have an unsurpassed, information rich, cross-pollinating über group for Denver's interactive/Web 2.0 developers and enthusiasts.
The second special characteristic is booze. Free. Booze. At every meeting.
Please join us to celebrate the launch of The Actionscript Society and Web2.0sday June 12th, 6 PM. These group(s) will meet at ID345 headquarters, located at 2930 Larimer St. Denver, CO.
I'm addicted to domains. I'm addicted to shortcodes.
I don't know what it is, but I have been buying a ton of domains over the past month. I think I get creative bursts and just have to buy buy buy. Luckily domains are relatively inexpensive....
Which brings me to my much more costly habit...shortcodes. These suckers cost $1000/month...but I seem to be buying these with almost as much fervor as the domains.
Anyone know of a good 12 step program?
Ruby Tuesday and Actionscript Society
Next Tuesday, June
5th 12th ID345 will begin a monthly Ruby on Rails developer group (Ruby Tuesdays) as well as a Flash/Flex/RIA developer group (Actionscript Society). These events will happen simultaneously in each of our conference areas the first Tuesday of every month (forever and ever) with before and after mingling. These events will be free and open to the public. Come one, come all.
